SUMMARY:Un américain à Paris
DESCRIPTION:Paul Crotto est né à New York en 1922. \nIl étudie la peinture  à New York à l’Art Students League.  Ensuite\, comme beaucoup d’artistes américains\, il prend la décision de partir en Europe. \nAprès avoir passé deux ans à l’Académie des Beaux-arts de Florence où il étudie la gravure et la sculpture\, il arrive à Paris en 1950 et  loue un atelier à Montmartre. Il y rencontre  Picasso\, Soulages\,…  et poursuit sa formation pendant deux ans à l’Académie de Fernand Léger. Il  rejoint ensuite  le poète et romancier britannique Robert  Ranke Grave au sein de la communauté artistique de Deia\,  dans le village des artistes de Majorque en Espagne pour continuer à créer. \nInitialement inspiré par le cubisme et Modigliani\, il développe ensuite un style très personnel\,  enjoué et coloré qui s’affranchit progressivement des influences extérieures. Dans les années 1960\, ses huiles ont été largement exposées en Europe et en Amérique. Membre du Salon de la Jeune Peinture\,  il expose au  Salon de la  Nationale des  Beaux-Arts\, au Salon du Prix Othon Friesz  et  au Salon du Dessin et de la Peinture à l`Eau.  En 1963\,  il reçoit le prix de Peinture de la ville de Villeneuve-sur-Lot. \nSes œuvres sont exposées régulièrement à  l’Obelisk Gallery  (Boston) et à la galerie Webbs Fine Art (Londres). \n      #bwg_container1_0 #bwg_container2_0 .bwg_masonry_thumb_0 {        text-align: center;
