L’idée d’une association a surgi à la Maison Nationale des Artistes\, lors d’une séance de travail\, dirigée par Pierre-Yves Gianni (artiste-peintre de la cité Guy-Loë). Il en fut l’instigateur avec Cathie le Cuziat\, une de ses élèves à l’époque. \nAvec l’accord des responsables de la Fondation Nationale des Arts Graphiques et Plastiques et de la Maison Nationale des Artistes\, Arts 4 est officialisée en 1996\, avec l’idée de la représentation des quatre ateliers existant (Académie\, atelier de peinture\, de sculpture\, calligraphie). \nLa première exposition a été présentée à la Maison Nationale des Artistes en 1996\, suivie de nombreuses manifestations en région Parisienne et en province. \nPeintres\, sculpteurs\, calligraphes\, graphistes\, photographes\, céramistes… ont créé l’histoire d’Arts 4.
