SUMMARY:Toiles et Papiers\, Michel Vray
DESCRIPTION:Peintre\, poète et « éditeur de poètes non publiés »\, Michel Vray étudie la peinture à la Grande Chaumière entre 1966 et 1968\, puis expose dans différentes galeries en France et à l’étranger. A ses débuts\, il réalise des toiles figuratives avant de se détacher peu à peu de la figuration pour une évocation plus libre.\nPour se définir\, au terme artiste\, Michel Vray préfère le terme de poète qui qualifie non pas une fonction mais un état. Dissociant le monde de l’écriture et celui de la peinture\, il articule de façon pragmatique les allers-retours qu’il réalise entre les deux disciplines. « Quand j’écris\, je ne peux pas peindre\, cela me plaît beaucoup… Quand je peins\, je ne peux pas écrire. Ce sont deux choses qui pourtant vivent ensemble. » Michel Vray réside actuellement à la Maison Nationale des Artistes. \n« Vous rencontrez Michel Vray mais vous ne voyez ni le peintre\, ni le poète\, ni l’éditeur. Devant vous se tient simplement un homme\, plus occupé à labourer sa terre qu’à discourir sur son travail. C’est bien ainsi que l’image s’impose à vous. Un homme cultive sa terre pour y cueillir parfois des morceaux de ciel. Ensemble\, vous faites quelques pas et la terre à vos semelles dévoile ses craquelures. Vous pensez qu’il est difficile de marcher\, difficile de rester\, difficile d’espérer\, mais l’homme vous apaise de son sourire complice et vous comprenez que la terre des poètes est une terre impossible. Depuis qu’il est né à la couleur\, au trait et à la beauté du sens\, Michel n’a jamais cessé d’éveiller sa terre à l’aune de ses rencontres et de ses passions.
