Elle fut suivie de bien d’autres\, qui ont créé à Nogent-sur-Marne dans les ateliers mis à leur disposition\, et parfois laissé leurs œuvres à la Fondation des Artistes. Vidéo. \nLa matière\, qu’elle soit d’origine végétale\, artificielle est au coeur de la pratique de Michel François. Il l’étudie pour ses propriétés sculpturales\, faisant résonner dans un même élément les questions d’équilibre\, de volume et d’espace. En relation avec son environnement\, il l’intègre à d’autres médiums tels que la photographie\, la vidéo ou l’installation. De cette approche plurielle émerge une volonté de faire surgir des analogies formelles et des échos symboliques profondément personnels. Dans son film Scrabble (2019) réalisé pour l’exposition\, Michel François documente le quotidien d’un homme qui occupe ses journées à jouer au scrabble. Ce rituel pourrait sembler anodin s’il ne se ouait pas avec des jetons abimés\, presque indéchiffrables. La répétition quasi machinale de cette action questionne le sens de notre réalité : et si nous reproduisions constamment les mêmes erreurs ?
