DESCRIPTION:Artistes :\nAnne Brégeaut\, Alex Cecchetti\, Patrick Corillon\, Kris Knight\, Maude Maris\, Ad Minoliti\, Anne Laure Sacriste\, Emmanuelle Villard\nEn 1721 décédait\, à Nogent-sur-Marne\, le peintre Antoine Watteau.\nEn 2017\, à Nogent-sur-Marne\, dans un centre d’art dont le parc aurait « soi-disant » accueilli les derniers jours du peintre\, une exposition convoque des artistes\, peintres ou non. \nPrenant donc prétexte de la mort supposée d’Antoine Watteau dans la propriété\, ce qui permit le classement de son parc\, la MABA fait du peintre la figure tutélaire de son exposition d’été. Par ce truchement faisant abstraction des Fêtes Galantes – l’implantation de la Maison d’Art Bernard Anthonioz pouvant suffire à y faire écho – les artistes invités interrogent tout comme Watteau le fit trois siècles plus tôt\, le Théâtre. Car le theatron\, l’« endroit où l’on voit » est un lieu où s’exercent des enjeux duels; représentation d’une réalité c’est un simulacre de celle-ci qu’il (re)joue\, singe et met à distance\, et\, dans le même temps\, il est une loupe placée sur celle-ci. Quand le théâtre est déjà représentation\, l’exposition « watteauesque » donne à penser la représentation de la représentation et s’interroge de la récurrence du théâtre comme sujet\, comme caractéristique\, comme forme dans la création plastique actuelle. Aussi\, si le théâtre est bien ce lieu destiné à une réception collective\, à la transmission\, à l’éducation\, au divertissement… il ne faut pas omettre pour autant sa qualité subversive\, car il est espace du travestissement et du renversement des valeurs.
