DESCRIPTION:Artistes :\nAli Cherri\, Steffani Jemison\, Jumana Manna et Oscar Murillo\nDernier volet de la 10e édition de la programmation Satellite\, l’exposition présentée à la MABA\, L’Économie du vivant rassemble les quatre artistes invités au long de ce cycle ‒ Ali Cherri\, Steffani Jemison\, Jumana Manna et Oscar Murillo ‒ et s’articule autour des œuvres qu’ils ont créées à cette occasion. \nTel un récit en quatre parties\, L’Économie du vivant puise dans les arts visuels\, l’archéologie\, la musique et la littérature pour dresser une carte alternative des migrations modernes. Le propos en est de considérer la constante mobilité des corps\, des plantes\, des animaux\, des œuvres d’art\, ainsi que d’un certain nombre d’autres produits culturels. Comprendre l’état du progrès humain au XXIe siècle consiste à consigner l’expérience vécue. Observant le monde à travers la lentille du présent\, les artistes choisis construisent leur propre subjectivité en considérant les rapports qui se nouent entre la mémoire et la fiction\, les communautés et les civilisations\, les vivants et les morts. Chacun de ces projets révèle ainsi une dimension du propos curatorial de l’exposition\, qui envisage les activités interconnectées liant les systèmes\, structures et processus faisant partie intégrante de la vie contemporaine. S’il arrive que l’on retrouve dans notre réalité quotidienne les traces de ces événements\, dont l’histoire peut être parfaitement conservée\, les micro-récits livrés par nos existences individuelles ou nos souvenirs personnels\, ainsi que d’autres effacements\, peuvent passer entièrement inaperçus. L’Économie du vivant fait référence à une reconfiguration du temps historique offrant une visibilité aux fantômes de la civilisation. \nBasé à Londres\, Osei Bonsu est commissaire d’exposition et auteur. Il a participé à de nombreux catalogues et expositions\, dont la 56e édition de la Biennale de Venise et Arts and Food\, l’exposition de la Triennale de Milan. Il a développé plusieurs projets artistiques internationaux dont Pangea II: New Art from Africa and Latin America (Saatchi Gallery\, 2015) et la 1-54 Art Fair (2013-2014).
