DESCRIPTION:Artistes :\nÆsa Sigurjónsdóttir\nDans son livre Tabúlarasa (1993) l’artiste Sigurður Guðmundsson nous raconte sa lutte absurde et éternelle avec la langue islandaise. Le vocabulaire y est personnifié sous la forme d’une dame de compagnie dans un restaurant à Lisbonne\, à la fois étrange et séduisante : « Un homme aveugle aurait pu trouver instantanément la femme que j’allais rencontrer. Elle était si différente des autres. » \nLes artistes islandais présentés ici s’expriment dans ce no-man’s land indéfinissable\, au croisement visuel entre littérature\, performance et musique. Ils passent facilement d’une chose à l’autre\, d’un médium à un autre. Nomades dans leur travail comme dans leur façon de vivre\, ils sont citoyens du monde\, et vivent à Berlin\, Amsterdam\, ou bien à Xiamen\, comme Sigurður Guðmundsson. Mais ils restent profondément liés à Reykjavík\, cette ville portuaire qui sent le soufre des sources chaudes.
