Designer graphique et directrice artistique\, Alice Gavin propose une vision personnelle des formes possibles d’une direction artistique contemporaine. \n\nCette recherche de définition de la direction artistique et de la direction créative\, du rôle du designer et du statut d’autrice et d’artiste\, est l’occasion de découvrir dans l’exposition une sélection de réalisations récentes mettant en valeur les travaux d’équipe menés autour d’Alice Gavin. Elle permet également au public de « pratiquer » un spécimen typographique expérimental\, créé en collaboration avec la designer d’objets Alexandra Gerber – un mobilier inédit prenant la forme d’un banc pour 6 personnes – rappelant que l’image dépasse souvent du cadre. \nLe parcours de l’exposition traverse ainsi différents champs : collaborations éditoriales avec Novembre Magazine\, JBE Books\, ou HEAD Genève ; objets de communication – imprimés ou numériques – conçus avec des institutions culturelles (Lafayette Anticipations\, Jewish Museum of Belgium\, The Community\, Villa Arson…) ainsi qu’avec des artistes (Martin Margiela\, Marguerite Humeau\, Jean-Marie Appriou\, Cosha\, Roni\, Marvin M’Toumo\, Morgane Ortin\, (LA)HORDE)… ; jusqu’aux productions récentes en direction photo et vidéo (avec Boris Camaca\, Léonard Méchineau\, Harley Weir\, Lætitia Gimenez ou encore Salomé Poloudenny)\, réalisées lors de sa résidence d’artiste associée au Ballet national de Marseille. Durant cette résidence\, Alice Gavin a pu expérimenter avec l’institution les modalités de partage les plus pertinentes d’un patrimoine contemporain dans un monde exponentiel et saturé d’images\, celui d’Internet\, dans lequel chacun peut désormais créer son archive personnelle et pratiquer le « Do It Yourself ». \nAdepte du détournement des codes du graphisme conventionnel\, Alice Gavin a toujours conservé une grande liberté dans sa production d’images destinées à la communication de ses divers commanditaires (institutions culturelles\, marques de mode\, musiciens et musiciennes)\, tout en faisant progressivement évoluer sa pratique vers celle de directrice image. Entre matérialisation des images créées et identification du statut du directeur artistique\, l’autrice élabore ainsi de nouveaux champs d’expérimentation et d’investigation\, proposant aux visiteurs de l’exposition une déambulation dans ses différents univers visuels. \nAlice Gavin\, née en 1987\, vit et travaille à Paris. Elle étudie à la Haute école des arts du Rhin (HEAR) – Strasbourg et continue sa formation à Londres aux côtés du directeur artistique Yorgo Tloupas et du photographe de mode Nick Knight à SHOWstudio. Elle co-fonde le studio de design graphique Groupe CCC (2010-2018) et le project space 22RUEMULLER (2011-2019) avant de créer son propre studio ALICEGAVINSERVICES™ en 2019. Elle intervient régulièrement à l’École Duperré en Mode – Majeure image média éditorial.
