SUMMARY:Lecture d’extraits de la pièce "L’affaire du boulevard Blanchon"\, le combat de la famille Smith et Pierre Champion pour Watteau\, in situ
DESCRIPTION:Dans L’Affaire du Boulevard Blanchon plusieurs camps s’affrontent autour du projet de boulevard : d’un côté les décideurs politiques de l’époque favorables au projet (le clan du maire Emile Brisson\, et le conseiller général Pierre Blanchon)\, de l’autre les opposants (commerçants\, grands propriétaires dont la famille Smith) ; les journalistes arbitrant le match. \nLa lecture du 04 décembre présentera les scènes liées à la famille Smith et Pierre Champion\, jeune historien qui épousa Madeleine Smith\, artiste peintre cadette de la famille\, en décembre 1907 quelques semaines avant le début de la polémique. \nConvaincues de leur bon droit et de la justesse de leur cause pour défendre la mémoire du peintre Watteau\, les Smith seront appuyées par Pierre Champion qui manœuvra habilement pour faire échouer le projet. \n  \nUne partie de l’équipe artistique sera présente pour la lecture. \n  \nL’affaire du boulevard Blanchon \nRésumé de la pièce : \nEn 1908\, éclate une polémique autour d’un projet urbain du Conseil Général de la Seine soutenu par la Ville de Nogent-sur-Marne. Celui-ci prévoyait la construction d’un boulevard destiné à contourner et à désengorger le centre-ville de Nogent et afin d’améliorer la circulation entre Paris et les villes de l’est parisien. \nMadame Léontine Smith ne souhaitant pas voir sa propriété du 14-16 avenue Charles-VII défigurée par ce projet\, et cherchant à empêcher le morcellement de l’immense parc attenant\, invoque alors la mémoire du peintre Watteau qui a passé ses derniers jours à Nogent et serait décédé dans sa propriété … \nSoutenue par ses filles et son gendre\, Pierre Champion\, le célèbre historien\, futur maire de la ville\, Mme Smith se lance alors dans un combat contre le projet de la ville et du conseil général. Ensemble\, ils vont activer leurs réseaux dans le but d’obtenir le classement de leur propriété.
