Cet ensemble exceptionnel\, autour d’un parc de 10 hectares\, est constitué de deux demeures de plaisance des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles\, la MABA (centre d’art contemporain) et la Maison nationale des artistes (EHPAD dédié aux artistes)\, d’une bibliothèque patrimoniale\, la Bibliothèque Smith-Lesouëf\, et de deux ensembles d’ateliers d’artistes. \nEn juillet 2018\, l’ensemble du site s’est vu attribuer le label de « Patrimoine d’intérêt régional » suivi en février 2024 par celui de « Maison des Illustres » pour la Bibliothèque Smith-Lesouëf. Une fabrique – un pigeonnier- nouvellement restaurée et inauguré en juin 2025\, complète ces éléments de patrimoine remarquables. \nLors des Journées européennes du patrimoine\, le parc de la Fondation des Artistes et la Bibliothèque Smith-Lesouëf seront exceptionnellement ouverts au public pour permettre de découvrir l’histoire des deux donatrices Madeleine et Jeanne Smith\, l’évolution historique du domaine et l’installation de Veit Stratmann (Bibliothèque Smith-Lesouëf). Pour les familles\, le jeu de pistes À la découverte du parc sera également mis à disposition gratuitement à l’accueil de la MABA. Les visiteurs pourront également découvrir les expositions de Christophe Gaudard (MABA) et de François Bouillon (Maison nationale des artistes).
